Canopy Center
The Canopy Center works to prevent child abuse and neglect, strengthen families, and
promote healing of those affected by abuse, through three programs—the Families United Network
Program provides support groups that help families be safe, strong, stable and nurturing so
children and parents can grow to their full potential; the Oasis Program provides group therapy
to people who have been affected by incest and child sexual abuse to increase the healthy
functioning of the family and help them incorporate the experience of the sexual abuse into
their lives in a manner that reduces the effects, as well as the cycle, of sexual abuse; and
the Parent Stressline provides an 18/7 listening line for parents and caregivers who are
experiencing stress or who just need someone to listen.

their children and other parents and engage in peer support in a strengths-based atmosphere. The FunZone in the Early Childhood Program offers
drop-in playtimes in the Early Childhood Center providing parent/child activities designed to enhance
brain development in preschool aged children to stimulate early learning and encourage school readiness

“As a father, being
involved in this program helped me better understand my baby’s needs by giving me
information... I don’t panic as much when my baby is sick. I feel less alone now.
My support worker even brought us groceries when we were feeling desperate.”
